Gem Duel ("the game") is a puzzle game operated by Zoonix LLC, 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States ("we"). This policy explains what the game collects, why, and your choices. Contact: info@zoonixgroup.com.
In short
You can play without giving us your name or email. The game creates a random guest account and a made-up nickname (such as "Zara42") and keeps your game progress on our server so it can be restored. If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your email address, your name and the address of your profile photo from them. Other players then see your name; you decide whether they see your photo. You can switch back to a nickname and a game character at any time. The game has no advertising. We do not sell personal data.
1. What the game collects
| Data | Where it is kept | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A random account ID created automatically, and a nickname generated by the game. Names cannot be typed. | On our server. | To give you an account, match you with other players and show you on the leaderboard. |
| Game progress: coins, trophies, level and XP, wins and losses, boosters and characters you own, your perk, daily rewards, missions, chests, season points and stickers. | On your phone and on our server. | To keep your progress and restore it on another phone. |
| Online matches: the moves made by both players, the scores, and the time they were played. | On our server. | To run the match and check every move fairly. |
| Only if you sign in with Google or Facebook: your email address, the account identifier they give us, your name, and the internet address of your profile photo. We do not receive your password, contacts or posts. | On our server. The photo itself stays on Google's or Facebook's servers. | To tie your progress to you, so you can get it back on a new phone, and to show your name (and your photo, if you switch it on) to other players. |
| Reports: if a player reports another player's name or photo, we keep who reported whom, the match, and the name and photo address that were shown. | On our server. | To review the report and act on it. |
| Purchases: when you buy coins, Google Play handles the payment. We receive a confirmation and a purchase number, never your card details. | The purchase number is kept on your phone. | To give you the coins once, and only once. |
| Your settings (sound, vibration) and whether you finished the tutorial. | Only on your phone. | To remember your choices. |
| Technical data that any internet service receives, such as your IP address and the time of a request. | In our hosting provider's server logs. | Security and keeping the service running. |
The game does not ask for your phone number, contacts, the photos on your phone, microphone, camera or location. There is no chat and no free text: nothing you could type reaches other players.
What other players see
- Guests: a generated nickname and a game character.
- Signed-in players: the name from your Google or Facebook account (shortened if it is long), and a game character. Your profile photo is shown only if you switch it on in the game's Account screen.
- In the Account screen you can switch to "a nickname" and "my character" at any time. Your email address is never shown to anyone.
- When your photo is shown, other players' phones load it directly from Google or Facebook.
2. Advertising, analytics and purchases
This version of the game shows no advertising and contains no advertising or analytics trackers. The game is built with the Unity engine and uses Unity's in-app purchasing component to talk to Google Play when you buy coins. Purchases are optional; everything coins unlock can also be earned by playing. If we add advertising or analytics, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent in the game.
3. Service providers
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Supabase (servers in Seoul, South Korea) | Accounts, database and server functions for progress and online matches |
| Google (Google Play, Google Play Billing, Google Sign-In, Firebase Hosting) | Distributing the app, handling payments, optional sign-in, hosting this website |
| Meta (Facebook Login), only if you choose it | Optional sign-in |
| Unity Technologies | The game engine and its purchasing component |
These providers may process data in countries other than yours. We rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect it.
4. How long we keep data
- Online matches: deleted automatically after 1 day.
- Guest accounts (not signed in): deleted from our server automatically once they are at least 90 days old and have not been played for 90 days. Your progress stays on your phone and is saved again under a new guest account the next time you play.
- Accounts signed in with Google or Facebook: kept until you delete the account.
- Data on your phone: until you clear the app's data or uninstall the game.
5. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: in the game, open Account → "Delete my account". This removes your account and saved progress from our server at once. You can also ask by email; see how to delete your account.
- Hide your name or photo: Account → "Name" and "Picture".
- Sign out: Account → "Sign out" removes your progress from the phone and keeps it in your account.
- To erase what is on your phone, uninstall the game or clear its data in your phone's settings.
- You may ask us for a copy of the data linked to your account, or to correct it, by writing to info@zoonixgroup.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California) you may have further rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
6. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
7. Security
Connections between the game and our server are encrypted. The server checks every move itself and the game cannot read or change other players' accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here and change the date at the top.
